Here are tour suggestions, by some you also have the posibillity
to toboggan the way down. the toboggans can be rented:
Gaisberg (1.287m)
The Gaisberg is a beautifuy mountain next to the city of Salzburg.
The way up most of the time a snowy way in the woods. From the
top you have a beautyful view over the city and the mountain
ranges. Right at the peak there are also 2 nice mountain restaurants,
were you can enjoy a worm drink before starting the way down.
This tour offers 3 starting points:
1. Ebenau (621m): It takes you 4 hours to get to the top.
2. Klausbauer (904m): It takes you 2 1/2 hours to get to the
peak.
3. Zistelalm (1.137): A nice hike for 1 1/2 hour and then you
can relax in a restaurant.
Strusing (1.524m)
Starting point is Werfenweng a small mountain village in the
high of 902 m, next to the Tennengebirge mountainrange south
of salzburg. The way that leads you up can be uses as toboggan-run.
so after the stop in the Strussing alpine hut, where we rest
after our hike in the snowy wintercountry side you can deside
if you go down by foot or use a toboggan.
This tour takes us about 2 hours to get up.
Karkogelhütte (1.136m)
A brand new destination for hiking in winter
and then going down with a tobbogan. You start at Abtenau (712
m) and walk a beautifuy way up to the Karkogel alpine hut where
you can try a typical austrian mulled claret or a warm tea.
After a pleasent rest, you will have much fun by going down
with a tobbogan, or just walk down.
This hike takes you 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get up.
